When top London tattoo artists at Black Garden in Drury Lane, asked for something special in their shop signage I was commssioned to design, build and paint these two shop fascia boards.

The artists at Black Garden had some ideas of basic style and colours they needed and I worked closely with them to put together first some thumbnail sketches and then complete the designs.

These boards where shaped cut-outs of best birch plywood to add some dimention to the rather boring rectangle sign they already had, and hand painted with 8 coats of paint to a high gloss finish in signwriters enamels with a black to green blend in the background, and hand signwritten with bevel effect lettering and traditionally hand painted scrollwork designs.
